The Flamborough Hockey Association is very excited to
announce the launch of the
Sabres Next Level Skills Program and
Development team for our Rep and MD teams.
The Next Level program will aim at developing our Sabre players
with a new approach that’s designed around position specific skills and hockey
IQ. The program will also have a concentration on increasing our players
skating ability with guided instruction on strides, edges, and stamina.
Introducing the Sabre Next Level Team:
Jeremy Bloomfield:
Jeremy has had a passion for the game of hockey from a young
age. His playing career has taken him to many levels of hockey. From growing up
playing minor hockey in the GTHL, graduating to Junior hockey (OPJHL), followed
by College (CCAA) Semi-Pro(ECHL) & (SPHL) experience, finishing up playing
in the (MLH) Sr.”A” Hockey League.
Owner/Head
Instructor of 3-D Hockey Development with over 14 years of Instruction based
background combined with 8 years of Coaching experience at the AAA level,
Jeremy continues to teach and mentor hockey players of all ages, levels, and
abilities. Jeremy does this by way of his innovative technical skills and
drills that help to enable players to grow, develop, and further enhance their
skill set to help reach their next level.
Mark Visentin:
Mark
Visentin brings a wealth of goaltending knowledge and a local presence to the
Flamborough Hockey Community. Growing up in Waterdown, Mark was always outside
playing road hockey, or on his bike with friends. Mark played house league in
the Flamborough Minor Hockey Association before making the AA rep Flamborough
Sabres. He enjoyed two years with the Sabres while winning two OMHA
Championships. Mark moved on to play AAA hockey and was drafted in the third
round to the Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
After
a few years of trying different things, Mark’s passion for hockey led him back
into coaching. Mark led the goalie development program for the FHA this past
season and he’s excited to return as part of the Next Level team and continue
to build the goalie pipeline for the Sabres. Additionally, Mark continues to
coach goalies in Burlington, Guelph, Cambridge and Waterloo. Mark has a mindset
of giving goalies the tools he wished he had when he was young. Waterdown
represents a special place in Mark’s heart. From playing road hockey on the
local streets to playing in the NHL, Mark hopes every player can have the
opportunity to work towards their next level.
Josh
Soares:
Josh was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. He played his
minor hockey for the Hamilton Huskies before moving on to the Greater Toronto
Hockey League (GTHL). Following his time in the GTHL Josh moved on to
the Ontario Junior Hockey League where he played 5 seasons for the Hamilton
Kilty B’s finishing his junior career as the all-time leading scorer of the
OJHL. Josh then earned a four-year scholarship to the University of Maine
where he played as a student/athlete for 4 years. Once he finished in Maine Josh signed
with the St. Louis Blues organization playing for their AHL affiliate
Peoria Riverman followed by 2 seasons in the East Coast Hockey
league before heading over to Europe to play 9 seasons in various
countries.
After 11 seasons playing pro Josh made the decision to
retire. Since retiring Josh has coached at the AAA level
and opened Josh Soares Hockey Development, working with multiple
minor hockey organizations and individual players over the past 5 seasons.
Situational positioning, skill specific development (puck handling,
shooting, scoring) and his attention to detail allow Josh
to connect with his players and help them achieve their ultimate goals of
getting to the next level.
Stay tuned for another exciting announcement about the final
member of the Next Level Team that will help our players achieve those skating
goals.
