Like the entire series, Game 5 of the Tri-County Championship was an exciting, well played, hard fought battle between the Milton Winterhawks and the Flamborough Sabres. The teams were tied 0-0 after the first and 1-1 after the second. Milton took the lead early in the third and despite all efforts, the Sabres could not tie up the game. Milton won the game 2-1 and the series 3 games to 2.
This is the second time that this Flamborough Sabres team has been named the Tri-County Finalists in the past 4 years, capping off a very successful 2018 season. The Minor Peewee AE Sabres finished with an overall record of 40-27-8, including Winning the Markham Early Bird Tournament, being Finalists in the Belleville Bulls Tournament and OMHA Quarter Finalists.
Congrats on a memorable season Sabres! Great playing, great coaching, great support! We're all proud of you!
